5 Second Animation Night is an annual Titmouse tradition that gives space for their company animators to create and bring to life any short, funny, silly or even disturbing ideas that they’ve had all year. Created by the co-founder of Titmouse, Shannon Pryonowski, this was once a tradition that was shared just between the co-workers and offices of Titmouse Inc.
The imaginative animators at Titmouse, Inc. have created some of Adult Swim’s most spectacular programming: Metalocalypse, Superjail!, The Venture Bros, Black Dynamite and China, IL. Shannon and Chris Prynoski, the couple who oversees the studio, also created the opening to Avatar: The Last Airbender and two animated sequences in Dan Harmon’s Community. In 2012, the studio began its first project for Disney XD. One of the 40th Annual Big Muddy Film Festival jurors is even the current acting COO for the company.
Since its conception over a decade ago, the company has long since expanded its reach and collaborated with different institutions and businesses to provide screenings to the public in locations like Los Angeles, New York, Vancouver and now…Carbondale!
The 5 Second Animation Night is now coming to Carbondale tonight from 5:30-7pm in the Guyon Auditorium in Morris Library. The event is free and open to the public (except children), so stop on by tonight to check out the selections from Titmouse’s studio vault of oddities and see what off-beat animations they’ve dreamed up over the year.
Again, we reiterate, this is not an event intended for children.
